Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Growth and Empowerment at Roots to Froots
As we wrap up 2024, it’s incredible to look back at all that we’ve accomplished at Roots to Froots. From launching new initiatives to empowering individuals through financial wellness, it’s been a year filled with growth and impact. Here’s a look at some of our key milestones and what’s next for us.
Kicking Off with Confidence
We began the year with the Financial Confidence Workshop in January, where we launched our Learning Hub. The workshop focused on goal-setting and budgeting, giving attendees the tools to take control of their finances. The Learning Hub is a central place where users can access resources, videos, and planning tools—helping people develop financial confidence at their own pace.
Empowering Women: EmpowerHer 2024
In March, we hosted EmpowerHer 2024, an event dedicated to empowering women in the workplace and business. It was the perfect platform for women leaders to connect, inspire, and elevate each other. We dove into topics like gender inequality, diversity in recruitment, and the value of inclusivity in the workplace. Our goal was to foster an environment where women can thrive, and we were thrilled with the feedback and the lasting connections formed.
The 10,000 People Program
One of the most exciting initiatives this year was the launch of the 10,000 People Program. Our mission is to equip 10,000 individuals with essential financial literacy tools and resources by 2025. Through Roots to Froots workshops, a comprehensive Financial Wellness Toolkit, and personalized One-to-One Coaching Sessions, we are building a community focused on improving financial wellbeing.
In September, we hosted our Investment for Beginners workshop in Leeds, followed by an engaging session on Wills in October, and discussions on Self-Assessment Returns and Side Hustles in November. Each session provided practical, actionable advice on essential financial topics like budgeting, debt management, building emergency funds, and understanding your emotional relationship with money.
Expanding Our Reach with the Podcast
In addition to our workshops, we launched the From Roots to Froots Podcast, your go-to resource for financial education and empowerment. Hosted by me, Arlyne Chinyanganya, we’ve already released 10 episodes with amazing guests such as Joy Thompson, Kia Commodore, Myron Jobson, Krystle McGilvery, Anna Brading, Fi Titus, and Leticia Fonseca. The podcast continues to explore financial wellness through insightful conversations and practical advice, providing listeners with the tools they need to take control of their financial futures.
Year-End Financial Wellness Tips
As the year draws to a close, it’s important to take stock of your financial situation and set yourself up for success in 2025. The festive season can add extra pressure, but it’s also a great time to evaluate your finances and take action. Here are five things you can do before the year ends to boost your financial wellness:
1️⃣ Review Your Budget and Spending: Take a look at your income, expenses, and overall budget. Assess if you’ve stayed on track with your financial goals. Make adjustments for the upcoming year to ensure you’re prioritising savings, debt repayment, and investing.
2️⃣ Maximise Tax-Advantaged Accounts: Contribute to your pension, ISA, or other retirement accounts before the year ends. Many accounts offer tax breaks or benefits, so it’s a great time to make the most of these opportunities and save on taxes.
3️⃣ Pay Down High-Interest Debt: Before the year ends, focus on paying down any high-interest debt, such as credit card balances or short-term loans. Reducing these liabilities will help you save on interest and give you a fresh start for the next year.
4️⃣ Set Financial Goals for the New Year: Think about your financial priorities for the upcoming year. Set clear and measurable goals, such as saving for a house, building an emergency fund, or paying off a specific debt. Having a roadmap will help keep you motivated and focused.
5️⃣ Review Your Credit Score and Report: Check your credit report for any inaccuracies or signs of fraud, and ensure that your credit score is in good standing. Improving your credit score now can help you secure better rates for loans and credit in the new year.

At Roots to Froots, we’re committed to helping you build a secure financial future. Whether you’re just starting to explore your financial wellbeing or you’re working towards long-term goals, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
